OUR STORY

The Sri Lankan Cultural Foundation of Werribee is the umbrella organization representing all Sri Lankans in Western Victoria since 1990's. Our Organization aims to reflect the accurate image of Sri Lanka as a multi-ethnic nation and thereby contribute towards promoting Multiculturalism in Western Victoria.

The Society is financed by annual fundraising activities and other various donations, grants and sponsorship received from people and organizations. Our Society strive to host various exciting events every calendar year, some of our main events include;

Celebration of Sinhalese and Hindu New year.
Celebration of Christmas - Christmas carols.
Representing Sri Lankan participation in Australian clean-up day.
Celebration of Poson - Poson Bakthigee & Dhamma sermons.

Further, our aims are to provide:

To promote, encourage and support Sri Lankan cultural activities and in pursuance of these Objectives liaise with Sri Lankan and other communities and organizations in Australia.
To foster an interest in the preservation and growth of Sinhalese language, literature, traditions,
To promote cultural values and activities among the younger generation of Sri Lankan origin.
To assists senior citizens of Sri Lankan origin.
To acquire by gift, purchase, lease, or otherwise real estate property for the purpose of establishing a cultural Centre to fulfill the objectives of the Foundation.
To carry out legitimate necessary activities to attain the above objectives.
